The Ojos de Agua hydro-electric power station, located in Chile, the first Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project registered by Endesa, has been approved by the Spanish Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification (Aenor).

The 9 MW run-of-river plant will enable an annual reduction in CO2 emissions of 20,870 tonnes, Endesa says.

The project, located in the Andes mountain range, about 100 km from the city of Talca in the VII Region of Chile, is slated to come on stream in the first half of 2008.
