A spokesman for Haryana Power Utilities said here today that 33 kV Rampur Kamboyan substation has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.66 crore by the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam. The new substation will supply qualitative power to as many as 30 villages. He said that the Mirzapur substation will be setup at a cost of Rs. 4.52 crore. The Nigam has decided to install two transformers of 10 mega volt amperes capacity to meet the domestic requirement of rural area and agricultural requirement of 28 villages.
The construction work of three new 33 kV substations at village Taharpur, Thimo and Ledi is in full swing. These substations will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.13 crore. Commissioning of these substations will directly benefit about 60 villages of surrounding area. In addition, construction work of 66 kV substations at village Laha and Sardheri are in progress.
The spokesman further stated that the Nigam is all set to release 1544 new tubewell connections in the district. In order to supply uninterrupted power to consumers and minimize break downs and interruptions as many as 47 feeders of 11 kV level will be bifurcated. He said that the UHBVN has spent Rs. 178 crore since March 2005 to May 2014 to strengthen the distribution network in the district. All out efforts are being made to improve power supply system and attend consumer complaints in minimum time.
