Following the acid treatment, the flow rate was a 30% improvement over the previously reported rate of 7480bpd for Shaikan-1 due to the removal of formation plugging around the well bore.

The stabilized flow rate was recorded on a 128/64th inch choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 264psi.

Gulf Keystone intends to perform a similar acid treatment on Shaikan-1.

The extended well test facilities, which both Shaikan-1 and Shaikan-3 are tied into, can hold more than 20,000 barrels.

Gulf Keystone holds a 75% working interest in the Shaikan Block with MOL holding 20% and Texas keystone holding the remaining 5% stake.
