GT Solar wins order for ingot growth systems from Trina Solar

GT Solar has secured two orders totaling $23.8m from Trina Solar, a manufacturer of mono and multicrystalline photovoltaic module, for its DSS450HP crystalline ingot growth systems.

Trina Solar said that the additional DSS450HP systems will allow the company to expand its manufacturing capacity.

GT Solar president and CEO Tom Gutierrez said that the company’s crystalline ingot growth systems provide value to customers because of their reliability and help PV manufacturers lower their cost of manufacturing.

GT Solar is a provider of polysilicon production technology, and sapphire and silicon crystalline growth systems and materials for the solar, LED and other specialty markets.
