GE has expanded its suite of wind service to include a 'Full Service Agreement' (FSA) for its new GE 1.6 MW turbines installed globally.

GE said that the FSA, which was originally introduced to cover all new GE 2.5xl wind turbines deployed in Europe, is designed to provide wind turbine owners with total support for their planned and unplanned maintenance and operations needs.

The new FSA builds on GE’s existing services packages and offers additional support to customers looking for the original equipment manufacture (OEM) to take care of overall wind park operations and maintenance.

GE’s technology resources and global service facilities, and a network of more than 900 local technicians who are connected to GE’s engineering organization support the company’s service portfolio including the FSA.

The FSA also gives customers access to GE’s suite of turbine upgrades that are based on new product evolutions and the in-depth product knowledge that only an OEM can provide.

GE said that a key feature of the FSA is guaranteed availability of the wind turbine, which can help turbine owners maximize their return on investment while minimizing operational risks.

Diarmaid Mulholland, general manager of wind services at GE Power & Water, said: ”GE’s wind service solutions have been designed to offer optimal life-cycle support for our entire wind turbine portfolio.

”Expanding the FSA to our global fleet of 1.6 MW turbines will allow more of our customers to maximize the performance of their existing units, which adds project security and the ability to better plan their total maintenance costs.”
