Russian gas major Gazprom has reportedly signed a long-term gas delivery deal with its Czech unit Vemex to deliver up to 500 million cubic meters of gas for the 2008-2012 period.

Reuters quoted Gazprom as saying that the contract, which is extendable by another five years, materialized after the Czech Republic liberalized its market from the start of the year.

After having entered into a short-term supply agreement with Vemex in March 2006, Gazprom has so far sold 186 million cubic meters of gas, Reuters revealed.
