The UGS facility is being built in aquifers at the border between the Penza Oblast and the Republic of Mordovia.
The facility will provide for export gas supplies through the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
The scope of work includes construction of a 30MW gas compressor unit, gas treatment unit and gas collection stations, 127 production wells will be drilled and brought on-stream as part of the facility construction operations.
The facility scheduled to become operational by the 2015-2016 withdrawal season, will be put into operation in a phased manner.
Upon operation, the facility will have working gas capacity at 2 billion cubic meters, a GCU and 41 production wells.
The facility is expected to operate at its full capacity of working gas 5 billion cubic meters by 2019-2020.
