Gamesa Energy USA has announced the appointment of Glenn Smith as the new vice president of the company.

In the new role, Mr Smith will oversee 50 engineering, construction, technical and project development employees throughout the Gamesa facilities in the US.

Mr Smith’s most recent experience has been in the areas of project development and acquisitions for the unregulated affiliates of two electric utility holding companies, Unisource (the parent of Tucson Electric Power) and FPL Group (the parent of Florida Power & Light and FPL Energy).

Mr Smith began his career in the energy sector as an engineer in 1980. His experience also includes construction, financial analysis, and investment banking.
