The company will supply, install and commission 110 G80-2.0MW wind turbines, beginning September.

Reliability and adaptability of the wind turbine makes it ideal for the desert land, corrosive atmosphere and high temperatures environment in Egypt, the company said.
In addition to providing three-year operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the wind facility, Gamesa will be responsible for construction of the civil engineering and electric infrastructure required to install and operate the project.
The wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned during the second half of 2017.
By 2020, Egypt intends to meet 20% of its energy needs from renewable energy sources by increasing its installed capacity from current 700MW to 7.2GW.
