The engineering contract is part of the improvement project for the El Teniente Concentrator.

The contract calls for the provision of front-end conceptual engineering (including optimization trade-offs, 3D model designs and a capital expenditure estimate) for modifications to the mineral ore feeding system for the SAG-1 and SAG-2 mills.

It also calls for improvement of the molybdenum processing plant; increased production of soluble copper; and improvements to the environmental protection at the tailings distribution system.

This front-end conceptual engineering work is scheduled to be completed during the second quarter of 2011.

Foster Wheeler CEO Umberto della Sala said that the company is excited to work with CODELCO on this important mining and metals project in Chile.
