The exploration program comprised mapping, prospecting and sampling in selected areas of the company’s strategic landholdings on trend from AREVA’s Kiggavik uranium mine development project.
It focused on four areas, including BL-32, which is surrounded by Cameco claims; Judge which lies on the eastern extension of the Andrew Lake fault; Long Lake, which hosts a number of historic showings and Pyro South, along the AREVA boundary.
The company accumulated 25 basement and sandstone rock samples and shipped them to the Saskatchewan Research Council for analysis.
Forum Uranium said: "A new showing at Long Lake returned outcrop and boulder geochemistry with values from 34 to 128ppm U being returned, with associated elements of boron (up to 626ppm), lead (219ppm) and nickel (278ppm) in ‘dirty’ metaquartzites, the same rock type that hosts the Kiggavik deposit.
"Values of up to 98ppm U were returned from arkosic boulders in the BL-32 area."
Forum Uranium considers North Thelon project as a key part of its portfolio as it is in proximity to AREVA’s Kiggavik uranium project and Cameco’s Turqavik and Aberdeen projects.
