FERC has allowed normal maximum water levels to be raised at Jeffrey Reservoir and Johnson lake, which are regulating reservoirs on the Kingsley scheme on the North Platte and Platte rivers in Nebraska. The applicant is also allowed to revise maximum levels at Lake Ogallala, the Supply Canal Diversion Dam, and Supply Canal canyon lakes.
Central applied for the licence amendment as it said higher water levels were being experienced with higher inflows to irrigation demand, rainfall or ice conditions, and during maintenance outages.
Recently, in separate cases, FERC staff recommended that the relicensing application by Avista Corp for almost 138MW of capacity on Spokane river should be granted. FERC also granted an extension of time to Woronoco Hydro for its production of a fish passage plan for its facility on Westfield River, Hampden county, Massachusetts.
