Kyrgyzstan's Kaz Kuat and AO Power Plants, together with Russia's ZAO Inter RAO, have agreed to undertake a joint feasibility study concerning the construction of the Kambarata hydroelectric power plant on the Naryn river in Kyrgyzsta.

According to the Interfax news agency, the study will be used to attract funding for the plant’s construction. The three companies will establish a joint venture to hold a tender to select a company that will design the plant.

Construction of the Kambarata hydro cascade originally started in 1990 but was later suspended due to funding shortages.
