Operated by ExxonMobil affiliate ExxonMobil PNG, PNG LNG is likely to produce more than 9 trillion cubic feet of gas over its estimated 30 years of operations.

ExxonMobil Development Company president Neil Duffin said, "Disciplined project execution has enabled us to supply Asia’s increasing energy needs and will benefit the people of Papua New Guinea for decades."

Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O’Neill said that the project provided significant economic benefits to the nation that will last for generations to come.

"Not only will the people of Papua New Guinea now benefit, their children and grandchildren will continue to enjoy the benefits and positive effects from this valuable resource development for many years to come," O’Neill added.

ExxonMobil PNG Limited Managing Director Peter Graham said that the PNG LNG project revenue will support Papua New Guinea’s continued economic and social development.

The major customers for the project’s output include China Petroleum and Chemical (Sinopec), Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO), Osaka Gas and CPC.
