ETSA Utilities has completed a A$4.1 million expansion of the Golden Grove sub-station as part of its commitment to upgrade electricity supplies to residents and businesses in the surrounding areas.

The utility said that five designers spent six months preparing drawings for the project, with up to 20 skilled personnel on site during the construction periods.

Sue Filby, general manager of services at ETSA Utilities, said that the works formed part of the organization’s summer preparations schedule.

Ms Filby said: Summer is a critical time for ETSA Utilities. Extreme weather conditions, coupled with increased demand for electricity, put extra pressure on our distribution network. The expansion of the Golden Grove sub-station has allowed us to address the reliability of electricity supply head-on.
