Solar power producer Etrion Corporation has completed the Rio Martino solar park in Lazio, Italy.

The 1.7MW ground-based solar photovoltaic power plant is expected to produce over two million kWh of clean electricity per year.

The power plant was built using Trina modules with crystalline, fixed-tilt technology and SMA inverters.

The project is expected to benefit from the 2010 feed-in-tariff of EUR0.34 per kWh plus a market price of approximately EUR0.08 per kWh.

The Italian feed-in-tariff is a premium purchase price for solar energy that is guaranteed by the Italian government for 20 years from the start of operations.

Etrion currently owns about 44MW of operational, ground-based solar photovoltaic power plants in Italy.
