E.ON Climate & Renewables (ECRNA) has signed an agreement with GE to receive 300MW of latest wind turbine technology for two wind farms in the US state of Illinois.

Under the agreement, GE will provide operation and maintenance services for the Settlers Trail wind farm in Iroquois County, and the Pioneer Trail wind farm in Iroquois and Ford Counties.

A total of 188 units of GE 1.6MW wind turbine will power the Settlers Trail and Pioneer Trail wind farms, being developed by ECRNA.

The new units will be covered under an existing ECRNA-GE operation and maintenance service agreement, which will maximize turbine availability and production across ECRNA’s installed base of GE wind turbines in the US.

At full capacity, the wind projects will produce enough power for about 115,000 US households.

ECRNA is a developer of renewable energy projects across the globe.
