The finance was availed by divesting a partial stake in EC&R’s Pioneer Trial Wind Farm which is located in Ford and Iroquois counties in the US state of Illinois.

The wind farm employs 94 GE 1.6 MW turbines to generate 150MW of power to meet the electricity needs of 45,000 homes in the region.

EC&R North America CEO Steve Trenholm said, "This transaction demonstrates EC&R’s commitment to boosting local economies and plays a major role in promoting clean, affordable, homegrown energy."

This is the company’s 15th operational wind farm in North America; it has a 2,200MW of overall operational capacity.

Banc of America Public Capital Corp president Todd Karas said, "Our investment in the Pioneer Trail Wind Farm is another step in Bank of America’s 10-year, $20 billion environmental business commitment."
