Under this program Energy ETC will replace the existing lighting fixtures at the research center, comprising of T-8 fluorescent lamps with three LED solid state tube lamps, in addition to providing material and installation labor for the pilot program at no cost to the research center.
The use of these LED lamps, which are claimed to consume 18W of energy and yield a 14W savings per lamp over the 32W consumed by the T8 fluorescent lamps, is expected to help the research center gain an annual energy savings of 630kWhs per office.
Taking over 300 offices into consideration, the research center stands to gain a potential annual energy savings of greater than 189,000kWh/year, while also eliminating 114 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
