Electricity and gas transmission company Energinet.dk has fixed the public service obligation tariff for the fourth quarter to 12.4 ore/kWh in western Denmark and 11 ore/kWh in eastern Denmark.

The public service obligation (PSO) tariff is determined on the basis of Nord Pool Spot’s forward prices for the fourth quarter of 28 ore/kWh in western Denmark and 31.4 ore/kWh in eastern Denmark.

Market players expect the market price to increase, and the PSO tariff to therefore be reduced. In the last two quarters, the market price has been close to the expected price, as a result of which the deficit included is falling.

The difference in the PSO tariff between eastern and western Denmark is primarily due to the fact that there are more local combined heat and power plants in western Denmark.
