Hydro Dolomiti Enel (HDE) was established by Enel Produzione, which transferred its hydroelectric operations in Trento, with the exception of the San Floriano plant, to the new company.
The assets include 20 concessions for major hydroelectric derivations and seven small derivations with a total capacity of about 1.3GW and a total annual output of 3.1TWh. HDE also acquired the entire share capital of Avisio Energia, which distributes natural gas in 33 municipalities in Trento, from Enel Rete Gas.
The transaction was completed after the conditions which the agreement was subject to in order to be effective were satisfied, namely the receipt of approval of the transaction by the Competition Authority; approval by Trento of the transfer of the hydroelectric concessions to HDE; and the extension of the concessions for major hydroelectric derivations until December 31, 2020, by Trento, enabling the full implementation of the business plan developed by the parties.
