<p>In a press release, Enel stated that, in particular, the company was hoping to work with Rosatom to jointly develop nuclear power generation, jointly take part in the management of electricity systems and jointly invest and participate reciprocally in nuclear assets. <br /><br />Fulvio Conti, Enel's CEO, commented: We are enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with the Russian nuclear energy agency in the nuclear power sector that is becoming increasingly strategic.<br /><br />Mr Conti added: Our interest in the project is enhanced by the fact that Rosatom signs a memorandum of intent with a private company for the development of the nuclear sector in Russia and in central and eastern Europe. We consider Russia's experience and technologies in this sector to be of great interest for the implementation of our joint plans. <br /><br />According to World Nuclear News, although Enel cannot use nuclear energy in Italy due to the country's nuclear phase-out laws, the company has been actively seeking partners in other areas of Europe in order to pursue nuclear projects. <br /><br />The publication commented that Enel is participating in the completion of units three and four of the Mochovce plant in Slovakia and may also be involved in proposed nuclear plants in France.</p>
