All parts are rigorously tested and certified, and come with a 90-day warranty — but cost less than conventional replacement parts.

Encompass chief executive officer Wayne Danson stated that the benefits of this environmentally friendly initiative go well beyond cost savings. “Too often, OEMs run out of service parts while popular products still have a potential life left in them.” said Danson. “This program expands the pool of service parts, extends the life of those consumer products in a cost-effect, environmentally responsible way, and solves a significant problem for retailers and extended warranty providers. When a malfunctioning flat panel TV is under warranty and parts cannot be obtained to repair that unit due to unavailability from the manufacturer, the store or extended warranty provider has to provide the customer with either a cash refund of the original purchase price or replace a new unit at no charge. Under our reclamation program, flat panel TV’s can be repaired with certified original parts at a relatively low cost”.

“The consumers are happy to get their products quickly fixed with parts that were historically unavailable; and the retailers are happy because they save either having to issue a credit back to the customer or give a replacement product to the customer – which both negatively impacts their bottom line.” said Danson. “And the biggest additional benefit,” Danson added, “is the on-site service tech feels good ordering a harvested part, keeping it out of the landfill.”
