Under the new contract, Emerson will serve as both main automation contractor and main electrical contractor, responsible for project management, procurement, engineering, design, installation, and start-up of the updated instrumentation, control, and electrical subsystems.
The company said the contract is part of a reconstruction and modernization program to help Polska Grupa Energetyczna meet the growing demands of the Polish power market by improving the Belchatow plant’s lifespan, efficiency, availability, and environmental performance.
Emerson technologies provided under the contract include PlantWeb digital plant architecture with the Ovation expert control system, Rosemount measurement and analytical instruments, Smart Wireless networks, Scenario simulation technology for operator training, and AMS Suite predictive maintenance software.
