Under the $20m contract, Emerson will provide its DeltaV distributed control and DeltaV SIS integrated safety system for new as well as existing portions of the facility.
Scope of contract also includes delivery of AMS Suite predictive maintenance software to optimize the availability of key production assets.
Additionally, the company’s project specialists in Houston and in Pune, India, will provide related design and configuration services as part of the contract.
Planned to be commissioned in 2018, the new project comprises three liquefaction trains with capacity to export up to 12 million tons per annum (Mtpa) of liquefied natural gas and facilitate export of domestic natural gas to international markets.
Construction on the project commenced in October 2014.
In February 2015, Cameron initiated the pre-filing review with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the project expansion, which would be located on land within the company’s existing terminal site.
The expansion project involves two additional liquefaction trains and one additional full containment LNG storage tank.
Cameron LNG is a joint venture owned by affiliates of Sempra Energy, Mitsui & Co and Japan LNG Investment.
