Soliant was engaged in developing concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) systems for commercial rooftop applications.
The company’s asset acquisition includes the equipment, inventory, software, licenses, intellectual property, and tooling for the rooftop solar energy product line.
Emcore intends to integrate the former Soliant research and development and pilot production line into its existing facilities located in Alhambra in the state of California.
Emcore said the manufacturing operations are expected to be transferred to its China-based joint venture, Suncore.
Soliant said its rooftop CPV system combined best-of-breed module design with TipTilt Tracking that offers a high energy density, light-weight, low-profile and low-cost solution.
