EESTech’s Hybrid Coalmine Gas Technology (HCGT) utilizes ventilated coalmine methane gas that would otherwise be vented to the atmosphere, as a fuel source to generate reliable, cost-effective electricity.
Methane gas is deemed to have a global warming potential that is 21 times more damaging to the atmosphere than CO2. EESTech’s HCGT will process waste coalmine methane, delivering significant environmental benefits.
A standard configuration HCGT is expected to generate cost-effective clean coal energy, reduce the carbon signature of coalmines and produce significant carbon abatement credits.
Murray Bailey, CEO of EESTech, said: We are very pleased to have signed the memorandum of understanding with AGL. The establishment of a commercial agreement with AGL provides a significant commercial opportunity and will help EESTech introduce the HCGT to the Australian coal industry.
