Portuguese energy major EDP has announced that it could add around 830MW to its installed capacity through projects that are being considered in the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo.

EDP released a statement saying that an agreement to support new energy investments has been signed between its Energias do Brasil unit and the state government.

Potential projects identified under the agreement include new hydroelectric plants capable of generating around 98MW, 216MW capacity wind power parks and thermoelectric plants that are able to generate around 500MW.
