The new 38kV circuit breaker is expected to provide reliable circuit protection in a compact, eco-friendly, and reliable package.
The company is showcasing this new product in the three-day tradeshow Power-Gen International that started on 11 December at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
The VCPW-HD breakers will protect transformers, capacitor banks, motors, busbar sections, and cable, said the firm. These circuit breakers are engineered to withstand demanding environmental conditions.
Eaton product manager Jhula Barua commented, "The new VCPW-HD circuit breaker platform has a compact design and incorporates industry-leading vacuum interruption and solid insulation technologies."
The new VCPW-HD circuit breakers provide current ratings up to 3000 amperes without fan cooling and up to 40 kA, in addition to meeting American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards.
