US-based Digital Lumens has installed the energy efficient LED-based Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System for the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center's (MassCEC) Wind Technology Testing Center (WTTC).

Features of the Intelligent Lighting System include the ability to provide required light levels from the 80ft ceiling heights of the facility; integrated networking and intelligence to maximize energy savings, ease of installation; and, elimination of maintenance and re-lamping associated with other lighting sources.

The company said the energy efficient LED-based lighting system uses 66% less energy than traditional lighting alternatives.

Construction of the WTTC facility started in late 2009, and is funded by a grant of $24.7m from the Department of Energy, combined with $13.2m in grants and loans from the MassCEC.

Digital Lumens is a developer of LED-based Intelligent Lighting Systems.
