The company issued £2.8m in bonds to investors in South Africa while £1.4m in bonds were issued to investors in the UK.
Combined with the $6m term loan obtained from Laurelton Diamonds earlier in November, the company has secured the required funds to develop the 47 Level underground block cave at the Lace diamond mine in South Africa.
DiamondCorp CEO Paul Loudon commented on the Bond issue saying that the company is pleased to arrange funds for the Lace underground development in a challenging market position.
"The Bond issue is the last piece of the funding jigsaw and will allow the company to unlock significant shareholder value from the Lace resource.
"The loans from IDC and Tiffany & Co. illustrate confidence in Lace, with its above average gem content and potential for fancy lilac stones," Loudon added.
