Oil and natural gas firm Denbury Resources has entered into two contracts to purchase carbon dioxide from future anthropogenic sources in the Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions of the US.

The company will purchase 100% of the CO2 captured from the DKRW Advanced Fuels’ industrial gasification and liquefaction facility located at Medicine Bow in Wyoming.

Denbury will also buy 70% of the CO2 captured from Mississippi Power’s Kemper County integrated gasification combined-cycle project in Mississippi.

Both the CO2 capture projects have been granted various forms of support through the US Department of Energy programs for the production of clean energy from coal and/or carbon capture and sequestration programs.
