Featuring 50 wind turbines, the project is being developed by Nobelwind in the North Sea, 45km off the coast of Belgium.
The turbines are planned to be connected in strings with 33kV inter-array cables, which will be linked back to the Nobelwind offshore high voltage substation (OHVS).
The Nobelwind OHVS will be linked to the existing 220kV Northwind OHVS by an export cable.
The phase II wind farm will be constructed next to the existing phase of the Bligh Bank concession, Belwind I.
Under the latest contract, DeepOcean will be responsible for pre-lay surveys, pre-lay grapnel runs, installation and trenching of 50 array cables as well as design and supply of the cable protection systems.
The contract scope also includes installation and trenching of a coupling cable between the Nobelwind and Belwind I OHVS, pull-in and trenching of the pre-installed Nobelwind export cable and all associated design and engineering activities.
Cable installation will be done by chartered cable lay vessel being constructed by Damen Yard.
The contract has options for cable termination and testing works, support and management which could run into the second quarter of 2017.
