DCP Midstream, an operator of diversified portfolio of midstream energy assets, has appointed Thomas O'Connor as its new chairman, president and CEO, effective November 15, 2007.
Mr O’Connor is currently group executive and president of commercial businesses for Duke Energy. He replaces Bill Easter who recently announced his intent to retire, effective January 1, 2008. Mr Easter will work with Mr O’Connor during the transitional period.
Mr O’Connor, current executive and president of Duke Energy, said: I’m pleased to be returning to the natural gas business and to lead DCP Midstream, a company for which I have had great admiration over the years. DCP is a leader in the midstream industry and under Bill’s leadership has been well positioned for continued growth and solid operating performance.
Mr Easter, president and CEO of DCP Midstream, said: Our achievements at DCP Midstream over the last four years have been extremely rewarding. It’s been a dramatic period in the industry and within the company, and I am confident Tom will continue to advance our strong performance and growth.
