The grant is provided under the Water and Sanitary Sewer Program, administered by the Department’s Community Development Division, Office of Housing and Community Partnerships that help local governments maintain, improve, and expand water and sanitary sewer systems.
The improvements are part of a $1.7m project to enhance the capacity of the wastewater treatment plant to handle the suspended solids in the system and also include the construction of a new building containing a laboratory and garage.
Ohio Department of Development director Lisa McDaniel said that making the necessary improvements to ensure the communities have a solid infrastructure is key to the economic prosperity of the state.
"This program provides a safe and sanitary environment for our citizens, enabling them to enhance their quality of life," McDaniel said.
