The DS-08-10 and DS-08-11 blocks, which cover a total area of 5,158 square kilometers, are located in the Bangladesh portion of the Bay of Bengal in water depth of 1,000m-1,500m.

ConocoPhillips said its exploration efforts in these blocks will begin as soon as possible with the acquisition of a large 2D seismic survey.

The company holds 100% of the working interest in the production sharing contract.

Petrobangla is the national oil company of Bangladesh, and explores, produces, transports and sells oil, natural gas and other mineral resources.

The government-owned company also concludes production sharing contracts with international oil firms for exploration and development of oil and gas resources in the country.
