Germany-based Conergy, which produces products for solar power generation, has announced that Jorg Spiekerkotter will join as its new CFO from November 1, 2007.

Hans-Martin Ruter, Conergy’s CEO and founder, said: His predecessor, Heiko Piossek, contributed decisively to raising the company to an entirely new level within two years. He was responsible for far-reaching structural changes in the finance, IT and human resources departments in particular. The board of management and the supervisory board wish to thank him for his commitment and his achievements. Conergy is now a global player in every respect, including the international financial markets. This is why the company decided to bring Dr Spiekerkotter on board, an experienced manager who fits this profile and has the potential for further growth.

With these management decisions, we are setting the course for the substantial, sustainable growth of our Conergy Group. We are delighted that we can now expand our management board with two executives with international experience, with the goal of becoming the global lead supplier for regenerative energy technology.

The supervisory board has also appointed Philip Schmeling as a deputy member of the management board. Up to now, Mr Schmeling was in charge of the global technology team – PV modules. An internationally experienced manager, he is currently responsible for the expansion of Conergy’s own fully automated factory in Frankfurt, which is going according to plan. In addition, he is responsible for logistics worldwide and quality control for the solar modules that are vital to Conergy’s core business.
