The company restored all of the nearly 20,000 customers affected by this storm system on June 8. This includes 8,400 customers directly affected by the tornado, but work to rebuild the transmission system is expected to last multiple weeks, ComEd said.

This will include restringing 34 miles of transmission line, replacing six twisted transmission towers and making significant repairs to a seventh tower.

Anne Pramaggiore, president and chief operating officer of ComEd, said: “Our crews did a phenomenal job restoring all customers in just over two days. We are committed to restoring the system to the same high-level of reliability residents and businesses experienced prior to the tornado.”
