The State Environmental Council (Coema) approved on the opinion of the State Superintendence of the Environment (Semace) in favor of the (prior) licensing of the complex of photovoltaic power plants Solar Res Moreira, of the consortium Russas Solar Energy SPE.

The complex consisting of four units is to be installed in the municipality of Russas, in an area of ??337 hectares.

When they are in operation, the plants will generate 114 megawatts of energy, equivalent to the demand of 50 thousand houses. One of the advantages presented by the consortium is the location of the development in Caraúbas, on the bank of the BR-116, five kilometers from the headquarters And six from the Chesf substation. Another positive aspect is the rate of insolation, satisfactory to give economic sustainability to the enterprise, even in periods of rain. According to the company's studies, 600 jobs will be generated during the installation phase, which could benefit directly and indirectly the 370 residents of the six communities in the area of ??influence of the plants.

Limestone and urbanization

The Coema also approved the Magnesite Extraction Project at Sítio Velame, in the interest of the company Polimix Concreto Ltda. The plant will extract limestone from a 292-hectare deposit located in the neighboring municipality of Quixeré, on the border with Rio Grande do Norte, four kilometers from the town of Bonsucesso. And it was also accepted the opinion of the Mundaú Beach Urbanization Project, in Trairi, on the West Coast. A boardwalk of about 18 thousand square meters should be built by the local city hall, between the square and the viewpoint of the bar.
