Belgium-based CMI Energy and its Indian licensee Larsen and Toubro (L&T) have entered into an agreement to manufacture and supply small Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) to the South East Asian and Middle East markets.

As per the agreement, L&T will have exclusive rights to use CMI Energy’s technology to manufacture and the small HRSGs to the company’s newly added markets.

The small HRSGs are installed behind the gas turbine with a capacity less than 80MW. The agreement covers gas turbine models such as MS6001, LM 6000, SGT-800, LM2500 and GE frame 5, and 6.

The small heat recovery steam generators are widely used in the combined cycle power plants and for cogeneration applications.

The generators are typically modular design with higher prefabrication level.

L&T and CMI Energy will co-develop and improve the design as per the client’s requirements in the new territories that they have entered, to improve competitiveness.
