The fast charging stations, which will begin operating in December, will be able to recharge an EV to 80% capacity taking less than 30 minutes and complete a 50% charge in less than 12 minutes.
Club Assist has also secured order for two Level 2 240V AC 30amp charging systems, which are designed for domestic and commercial use and will be operated by Club Assist’s New South Wales, Australia Motoring Club partner, the NRMA in Wynyard and in North Strathfield.
Club Assist, which is also working with its technology partner, Aker Wade, to develop a fast mobile charge unit, plans to commence installations of additional Level 3 EV Fast Charging systems in the country in coming months.
Club Assist CEO Stuart Davies said that the new fast charge system is an exciting first step in what is a surge in the development and uptake in technology associated with recharging electric cars.
"It’s the first time a dedicated and accessible fast recharge service has been available to the Australian motoring public and we are thrilled to be offering this service to Mitsubishi i-MiEV drivers," Davies said.
