According to the company, Central Jersey Waste & Recycling, located in Trenton, New Jersey, provides waste hauling and recycling services for central New Jersey, including the town of Hamilton, which has mandated alternative fuel use.
Central Jersey Waste will finance both a portion of its time-fill fueling station and 20 natural gas trucks through Clean Energy Finance. Clean Energy will design, build, operate and maintain the fueling station. The waste and recycling firm is the first in New Jersey to convert a portion of its operations to natural gas fuel use.
James Harger, senior vice president of Clean Energy, said: “We are pleased to provide these services for Central Jersey Waste that will in turn benefit the state of New Jersey by beginning to use cleaner natural gas fuel for waste and recycling hauling. Waste hauling companies throughout the country are beginning to adopt natural gas fuel for both environmental and economic reasons.
“With more than 200,000 refuse trucks on the road nationwide, there is opportunity for natural gas vehicles to contribute to the nation’s energy commitment to reduce the use of foreign oil while helping clean the air.”
Clean Energy is a provider of natural gas (CNG and LNG) for transportation in North America. It has a customer base in the refuse, transit, ports, shuttle, taxi, trucking, airport and municipal fleet markets.
