The $5m upgrade provides a stable and safe channel for Fassnight Creek, improves water quality and reduces flooding.
The project included replacement of bridges over Fassnight Creek at Campbell, Main and Grant Avenues as well as restoration of deteriorating retaining walls.
It also included installation of the new Fassnight Creek Greenway Trail along the creek bank.
The US Environmental Protection Agency provided a $1.7m Stormwater Infrastructure Grant for the project.
Project funding was also provided by $3.1m from the Lakes, Stream and Waterways portion of the 2006 County-wide Parks Sales Tax and a $200,000 Transportation Enhancement Grant for trails.
Hartman & Company served as general contractor with engineering and landscape architecture services provided by Mathews & Associates, Patti Banks Associates and natural stream specialists, Intuition & Logic.
