Chubu is anticipated to bear most of the construction cost for the six million kilowatt plant, reported globalpost.

The plant may be constructed at TEPCO’s Hitachinaka thermal power station in Ibaraki Prefecture by 2019.

As part of the deal, Chubu will sell electricity in the TEPCO service area.

TEPCO in a bid to save costs while dealing with the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, has invited bids to provide it with a total of 2.6 million kilowatts in electricity.
