Cavico Hydropower Construction, a subsidiary of Cavico Corporation, has signed a tunnel construction contract valued at $7.75M with Song Giang Hydropower Joint Stock Company for work on the Song Giang 1 hydropower plant in in central Vietnam's Khanh Hoa Province.
Under the terms of the contract, Cavico will excavate and construct a total of 11,500ft of 10.5ft-wide tunnels and a 131ft-high surge tank that will measure 30.2ft in diameter. Revenue will be recognized in stages as Cavico completes each phase of the project.
The twin-unit hydro plant will have a 24MW annual capacity once it becomes operational. Song Giang Hydropower Joint Stock Company expects to invest a total of $23.2M in the plant.
