Under Executive Order H-10-196, FirstCarbon Solutions will verify greenhouse gas inventories for approximately 700 facilities that are currently required to report under the CARB approved Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions regulation, which requires reporting and third-party verification of GHG emissions.

Facilities subject to mandatory reporting need to have their GHG emissions verified beginning in 2010, for their 2009 reported emissions and have to undergo either annual or triennial verification.

FirstCarbon Solutions will integrate environmental consulting with its GHG emissions management software (FirstCarbon Solutions ghgTrack) for the verification process.

Dailey Tipton, vice president of sales and marketing at FirstCarbon Solutions, said: “The accreditation from California Air Resources Board further validates FirstCarbon Solutions’ expertise in GHG emissions reporting and verification.

“Beyond verification, FirstCarbon Solutions excels at helping organizations convert environmental data across their operations into a business advantage. Whether an organization falls within the threshold for mandatory reporting, or it is simply interested in maximizing sustainability initiatives, FirstCarbon Solutions can help.”
