Under the terms of the contract, Car Charging Group will work on adding EV charging stations to KKAID’s design concepts of projects that include luxury high-rise mixed-use developments, hospitality and entertainment centers, commercial and retail spaces.
Such projects will help in building a nationwide infrastructure of EV charging stations, much to the aid of manufacturers such as Tesla Motors, the Renault and Nissan alliance, General Motors, Ford and others, set to roll out EV models in dealer showrooms during 2010.
Car Charging Group CEO Michael Farkas said that the Obama administration is committed to getting a million EVs on the road in the next five years.
“We are seeing a significant increase in the number of developers and architects joining governments around the world to create the charging infrastructure necessary to support the arrival of EVs in significant numbers,” Farkas said.
