According to Enercan the filling of the reservoir has started and there should be no delay in the start of the first turbine.

Enercan is a consortium made up of Brazilian power company CPFL Energia with 48.7%, Brazilian aluminum makers CBA with 22.7%, metallurgy company CNT with 20%, the state-controlled companies of Rio Grande do Sul CEEE (6.5%) and Santa Catarina Celesc (2%).

Campos Novos’ 35-year build-and-operate concession was awarded in 1998. It is located on the Canoas river and will supply power to the consortium’s stakeholders according to their participation in the project.
