The contract requires B&W NE to provide engineering and construction services to replace critical components and make associated modifications to the nuclear power plant located in Omaha, Nebraska.

B&W NE began the engineering work in December 2010 in preparation for power uprate activity during the plant’s 2012 refueling outage to increase the capacity of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Generating Station by 17%.

B&W NE president Chris Mowry said that B&W provides world-class manufacturing, engineering, construction and inspection/repair services for the nuclear power markets, and it is pleased to add OPPD to its growing list of nuclear energy customers.
