When completed, BP said the 419MW farm will be the largest wind project in the state, spread across 66,000 acres, with enough power for more than 125,000 homes.

BP has installed massive wind blades at the facility which is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

The companies also announced that the entire power from Flat Ridge 2 has been sold under a separate long-term agreement to Associated Electric Cooperative and Southwestern Electric Power Company, a unit of American Electric Power.

BP and Sempra U.S. Gas & Power are equal partners for the wind farm, and BP will be the operator of the project, once it commences commercial operations.
